3 months past due...

Have I seriously neglected this blog for almost 3 months?!  Surely not.  How did that happen?  Sometimes I wish I could just stop time.  Let's see if I can briefly recap the last 3 months for you.  I hope you are seated comfortably.  Lets see, I left off in September as we were just starting school - geeezzz...that seems like ages ago!!  We have had a great semester of school this year.  Ashlyn is having so much fun and learning to read!! She also got to play soccer for the first time.  Shawn coached the girls this year and did awesome.  Turns out Ashlyn might be an athlete!  She did really well and had a lot of fun.  She is now playing basketball and is super-excited about it.  Austin is crazy-smart and flying thru 1st grade. Austin did not play soccer this year, but played his first season of flag football.  I think we may have a football player on our hands!  He absolutely loved it.  He learned a ton about the game and did really well for his first time.  He got to play quarterback twice and even threw for  few touchdowns!! So much more fun to watch than soccer!!  I love watching the kids play sports - so fun.  Gabriella is also learning to read and is constantly sounding words out which is so fun to hear.  And of course, Lucas thinks he knows way more than he actually does.  I so wish Lucas could stay this age forever.  He is hysterical - the things he says (and does) crack me up.  A few days ago as I was doing laundry I felt like there were a lot of Lucas's clothes that should have been in the laundry, but I figured I must have already put them away or something....well....today I found a huge pile of dirty clothes shoved into the step stool in the bathroom.  Lucas has been hiding his dirty clothes so that he wouldn't have to wait for me to wash them.   No kidding.  As for me, I have been busy with daycare kiddos and am tutoring almost every night.  I love that my tutoring business is growing and am so happy to be helping kids.  Shawn is working hard as always - what a great hubs he is.  I am such a lucky gal.  Somehow we have managed to continue the never-ending kitchen remodel.  Have I even posted that we have a backsplash???  Yes, we have tiled and it is amazing.  We also put up some of the crown molding around the cabinets - looks amazing also.  We are hoping to do a little more over the holidays, but we also plan on doing some relaxing and playing too.  December just goes way too fast, don't you think?  I am so excited for the kids Christmas programs coming up.  Gabriella will have 2 lines in the play this year.  We have seen this same play the last 3 4 years now so I decided we should liven it up.  I have been working with Gabriella on "facial expression and simple hand gestures".  I think it will add a little something to the play.  We'll see if she steps up to the plate.  Ok, what am I forgetting? Oh!  We got to have 2 days with no kiddos over Thanksgiving.  All the kids stayed at the farm and Shawn and I went shopping for almost 12 hours straight!! We shopped all night long and it was so much fun just to hang out together.  Any man that is willing to shop all night on Black Friday with his wife is a keeper!!  Tomorrow night is going to be a fabulous night out with my girlfriends - we have a limo lined up and are headed out to see Christmas lights together (2nd annual) - should be a blast!!  That's all I can come up with for now.  I am off to bed.
Merry Christmas!!
